Middle Distance (88.4km, 1222m of ascent)
From Mount Edgecumbe, the bike course climbs the hill up to Maker Heights, before descending and turning left at Fourlanesend Primary School down to Kingsand and Cawsand. [Caution - take great care on the sharp left turn and descent.] After heading through Kingsand and Cawsand, the route climbs up Forder Lane, before bending to the right and joining the Military Road with views across Whitsand Bay. The route follows the coast road along Whitsand Bay to Tregantle, then turns left to Crafthole. Take care in Crafthole where the road is narrow and there are speed bumps. At Crafthole, the route turns right to Sheviock, where it joins the main A374. [Caution on the descent down to the main road]. The route turns left onto the A374 where it heads through Polbathic towards Trerulefoot. Climbing the hill towards Trerulefoot, there is a turn point before the roundabout at a gateway on the left of the road. Turning here, the route follows the main A374 back towards Torpoint, for 13km. Between Antony and Torpoint is the other turn point, which involves taking a right turn after the Antony war memorial and following a small triangle back onto the main road, then heading back to the Trerulefoot turn again, then again back to the Torpoint turn again. Turning here for the second time, the route heads back to Polbathic, then turns left by the pub, climbing a long hill towards Downderry, then descending and bearing left on the B3247 towards Portwrinkle then back to Crafthole, where it turns right and back onto the coast road to Tregantle, where a right turn takes the road along the coast through Freathy. From there it heads back towards Rame, turning left at a triangle in the road. The route heads up a narrow minor road, then down the other side [Take care here as the road is narrow and rough, and the descent requires caution. Do not use TT bars and stay on the brakes down the descent]. At the end of this lane there is a cross roads where the route turns right back to Fourlanesend school, where a left turn takes you back up Maker Heights and down to Mount Edgcumbe.
