Juniors

Plymouth Triathlon Club has a dedicated junior section. Age for participation start at aged 8.

Track Session at Foulston Park Track, 1800-1900 every Thursday.
Swim session at the Life Centre, 1930-2030 every Friday.

Membership: £25 yearly, then pay as you go for each session (Track - £1.50 / Swim - £3.50).

Junior Co-Ordinator will:

liaise with the PTC committee
support the Junior Reps in their attendance at the committee
signpost events to junior participants.
draft junior notices.
take responsibility for Safeguarding, along with the Club’s Welfare Officer.
obtain parent consent forms for all members each year.

Junior Entry Requirements

All juniors joining Plymouth Triathlon Club must meet ASA Level 8 swimming standard or above and either currently swim or have previously swum with a competitive swimming club.

Alternatively, the Junior Head Coach will assess new members at their first session to ensure they meet the minimum required standard. For more information about the expected swimming ability, visit the Swim England swimming guidance.

Which age group am I in?

Triathlon age groups are determined by the athlete’s age on 31 December of the relevant year.

TriStart: 8 years

TriStar 1: 9–10 years

TriStar 2: 11–12 years

TriStar 3: 13–14 years

Youth: 15–16 years

Junior: 17–18 years

Please note: Athletes aged 18 or over must register as adult members.
